COVID-19: Operations and Programs at the Sandy River Watershed Council
(updated April 07, 2020)
On March 11th, the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 (also called Coronavirus) a pandemic, and on March 8, Oregon Gov. Kate Brown declared a state of emergency related to the COVID-19 outbreak. Our thoughts are with you all, as we’ve all been affected in one way or another. As circumstances surrounding COVID-19 evolve, we want to make sure our community is informed and can easily access information about any impacts to our programming and operations.
We have modified our work routines and upcoming activities as a way to take measures to protect the most vulnerable members of our communities. We encourage everyone to remain calm, continue good hygiene practices and social distancing, and to stay connected to your community networks. (Resources are listed at the end of this document.) Per Governor Brown’s executive order, “All non-essential social and recreational gatherings of individuals are prohibited immediately, regardless of size, if a distance of at least six feet between individuals cannot be maintained.“ In response, we are announcing the following modifications to our upcoming activities. Please note this policy is changing rapidly in response to evolving conditions and will be updated as needed. Contact information for the relevant staff are listed below each activity if you have further questions or concerns.
Updates to Programming and Operations
Sandy River Watershed Council is committed to meeting or exceeding recommendations from public agencies, reviewing a number of factors from the size of the event to the risk factors for audiences.
These are the programs that are currently affected. We will update this as needed. If you do not see a program listed, there has been no change to its operations.
Main Office Closed Through April 30
The Sandy River Watershed Council is closely monitoring COVID-19 and assessing how we can help slow the spread of the virus. To help achieve that goal, we have made the difficult decision to close down our offices to the public, and suspend youth and adult education programs and events through April.
