Sandy River Watershed
Conservation Recreation Guide

Welcome to the Sandy River Basin Conservation Oriented Recreation (COR) web page! Here you will find a searchable map with a wide range of recreation opportunities and resources. To protect the Sandy for years to come, before your visit, be sure to check out our COR values.

Some of the sites listed below describe restoration projects that have made the Sandy a better place for native fish and wildlife since the removal of the Marmot Dam in 2007 . Has this restoration work helped? Yes. There are more salmon in restored areas and population trends for three out of four salmon species in the basin are increasing. See the 2017 State of the Sandy Report for more information.  How we each affect the river and surrounding forest will help keep that recovery trend moving in the right direction.
